Hey everyone! i dont know if you heard of this new British child prodigy already. Shes a very interesting little Girl who is seven years old and has already composed a opera with full String Orchestra. Her Piano playing Skills are incredible and she even doesn´t need the Pedals yet (caus she cant reach them). Her name ist Alma Deutscher ans she could Play and name Notes pefektly at age 2, composing at the age of 4 and get her first Piano lessons at age 5. Shes really similar to Emily. Thats the reason why i find Alma so intresting. She is called the new "Mini Mozart". She plays Piano and the Violin. (like Mozart did ) Here are some Video links of her playing: Frist the Opera: (I really like this one!) Here are antother Videos: (in news) (She is also good at improvisation) (her playing a violin Concerto) (a Piano composition) So Check her out shes really amazing! best wishes, Alex

Hi alex, Alma is really talented. I was watching some of her videos and it looks she composes and improvises very often. I don't like much Opera so I can not value her Opera composition. However, I don't know why in following video they didn't mention Emily because ABC already aired similar story about Emily. Petee PS: She could play and Hollie Steel sings. :-)

Diligently" mmm..... RT @rogerevansny: Quoth Robert Schumann t.co/ExScutKCwp.me/paCe2-1ruThere is at the bottom of this short list a link to be full list on google books. Yesterday on German tv show "Wetten dass?" two international pop stars. As we are on Emilys forum I start with Bruno Mars - Locked out of heaven After this performance he met his " biggest" fan. A seven year old girl who also was a candidate of the show " child bet" She could memorize the binar code of every alphabetic character and spell three out of four words by its binar code. Justin Timberlake - Mirror After his performance he made a short talk, a beat box for the co host and a short Elvis Presley imitation -))) I think you realize that for Hollywood stars it seem they are on the Mars and meet aliens-)))) The strange german comedian co-host was featured in the New York Times in December-)))) www.nytimes.com/2012/12/22/world/europe/in-cindy-from-marzahn-an-offbeat-comedian-of-the-people.html

Hello hosepipe, I try to translate some parts of an interview of David Garrett with the Berliner Zeitung because he promotes his new /old classical album which he recorded when he was 14.
(....) BZ:Is there something, apart from playing the violin, that you absolutely wants to do,e,g. a trip around the world?
DG:I have travelled the world. I want to see the world. Best in life is to have time, time for oneselfe, time too make sight-seeing, time to rest, 10 minutes just walking, for me thats luxury.
(...)
BZ: What do you connect with your childhood?
DG:A lot of work, discipline. It was the basement, from which I have built my violin playing.
BZ:What was your haunting childhood experience?
DG:I don't think yery much about my childhood. My capacity of remembering starts with 19 years. Earlier everything is very nebolous. (...)
BZ: Did you hear pop music, played football(soccer), went on partys, got drunk?
DG: Therefore you need people to tell you where, when, what. I didn't have this people, because I had private tuition, was travelling or was home.
BZ:How is private tuition?
DG:Totally boring.Thats horrible. The whole time you are sitting in front of someone and have to stay concentrated, hearing what he/she says. You cannot talk in between or chew bubble gum.
Now I understand why he told in an other interview that his favourite subject in the times he was in school was philosophy not music. He told in that TV interview that he liked just to talk in school lesson-))) ( When he was filmed in his old school with a teacher he told it was just fun to babble about different things in philosophy-)))
I hope Emilys childhood is different!

There are other not so negative parts.
BZ:Is music your fillip?
DG: Life is the fillip, to stay up in the morning, thats cool!
BZ:You are very ambitious, aren't there times when you think its too much ( very free translation)
DG:Whats ambition? I have much fun with project which have potential. There is a negative meaning of ambition. Someone is obsessed, thats my definition of ambition. And I am totally not obsessed. In the contrary. I look for projects which wil make fun and by the fun about the product there is often success. One secret for success is not to look for success, just to look for the fun. If you make something that you think is cool other people think the same.

Here is the short video in Aachen and in his old school. The blonde woman is his mother. And the venue at the end, the Aachen Cathedral, Unesco world heritage, wouldn't that be something for Emily. Garret tells that he played there the christmas concert when he was seven. Or Trini wouldn't this cathedral be something for you, for a concert. As I already told in a post its 1200 years old. whc.unesco.org/en/list/3I just go by bike or walk-))))

Hi Pettee, no problem-))) I remembered something very interesting. In 2010 Germany won the Eurovision Song Contest with Lena and Satellite. After that she made her first album" My cassette player". Its cover reminds me of something, but I don't know what-))))) www.spielemagazin.de/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Lena-Meyer-Landrut_Album-Cover.jpgSatellite Satellite ( Thats they made with this song as opening act in Germany one year later, e.g. with Big Band)-))))

Oh I forgot. Actually the USA were the winner of European Song Contest 2011-))))
The song "Satellite" was composed by Julie Frost,
( performed unplugged her version on german TV)
who e.g. wrote also the hook of
Black Eyed Peas - Can't get enough
And won in 2012 the Golden Globe!
Madonna - Masterpiece
