Hi Don, after busy time I can finally watch all your videos from Carnegie. You did perfect job with them in so difficult conditions. :-) Emily looks there amazing carefully watching (and smiling to) other performers or conductor (I don't know) in her beautiful red dress. Woow. The love in us song is quite different as I know it from that old video. And your photo with Emily is also amazing. I feel like Emily's joy and excitement from that event is shining of her. I noticed Tim Janis on that photo. I assume that Sarah has also photo with Emily. Did you take more photos, Don? Thanks Don for those videos. I didn't believe that we will see Emily's performance from Carnegie Hall and I wonder whether DVD is going to be available. It would be perfect. Petee

I know its August but a I was searching through youtube I found a version of "Silent Night" by the Dresdner Kreuzchor
I think that Emilys version is fantastic but the two young singers at Carnegie Hall are too Broadway like, there is too much candy. Perhaps it was the conductors fault he had to tell them. Its called" silent night" and it was written in the oringinal by Mr Gruber? - I think - only for voices and guitar. So with too much tremolo too much " Brimbamborium",as we in in Germany call it the feeling gets lost. In the Kreuzchor video the soloist seems to be a nerd - I think he is not- but his interpretation is perfect and the choir!!!!! There has to be some young voice talents in US who can sing this simple as it is needed. The soloist does not look like Justin Bieber but in a competition Justin would loose. Emilys strength is her simplicity in expressing feelings with a few chords as in "Summertime". She never shows off or as Holden Caulfield would call it is " phony". Thefore - in my opinion- the fanlala video does not really work. Emily and Hollywood are two different worlds, and thats good ( its the same with the video with the horrible interviewer) So she needs artists who are able to do this. I'm not sure about somebody like Jackie Evancho or Connie Talbot. They are stars by TV. Put them in church in a ugly dress or Justin with a nerd haircut -) without any effects... .Emily in contrast like a real artist would thrill the people with her music. For this reason I posted the video with Hilary Hahn and Twinkle ... on daily music. Its simple music but brilliant and honest performance without kitsch.

I have to make some regret to the two girls. I dicovered the video petee posted of them with a short musical piece. They seem able to sing simple but its a musical so its ok.Especially the first girl has a great voice. But Silent Night is not a musical song. And if I am a conductor on the Carnegie Hall I have to know this. So sorry to the girls and shame to the conductor or their voice coach.
