Preordered! I've listened to all the previews for Emily's new album (as I'm sure you all have too) and I quite like the way Quincy planned this new album. Because it's her 'debut' album, it seems right that they should include her new and old music to show all around her best work. I'm enjoying her new jazzier things as well. I don't play much jazz so this is going to be fun to learn! I'm glad that the songbook is coming out so close to the CD release date this time (at least, I assume since it's already in the store). I'm so looking forward to learning new music!

There are a few songs who have the capability to become big hits!!!!
Imagine Emily at Ellen Show with her trio, Carlitos del Puerto, Francesco Mela and Zuill Bailey. They would astonish everybody. Or at Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel etc.
As I wrote although Emily has more years to grow and grow she already outclasse many others.

I have to admit I haven't ordered the CD, since it is being released on May 7th that is the day I'm traveling to LA. My mailman has a tendency to leave packages by my door if it doesn't fit into my mailbox, I don't mind this at all if I'm home but I'll be gone till the weekend and that's just to long to be sitting in the open. I'm sure I'll be able to get it in LA but probably won't be able to listen to it till I return home, yes I'll probably be able to download it from itunes to my ipod but it's just not the same as listening to it on a CD with a good set of headphones.

Don Unless you have an unusually small mailbox, the CD should fit. The postman can usually fit even the songbooks into our mailbox...even if they do come out somewhat bent. :\ You could always order it and get it shipped to a friend's house just for safekeeping till you get back! I made a video to go with "Diversity" celebrating Emily's performances:

Or you should have a postman who was fired a few days ago according to an article in the local yellow press. He wrote on a note - package is in the garbage can next to the car-))))
Many thanks, Trini!!!!!!!!!!

Trini, I read a few of the comments on your new video.
Sorry to disagree, but there are worlds between Emilys old CDs and ner new one. I know that you want to play the sheets music. Nobody stops you.-)))
Her old productions are - although the music was fantastic - elementary school basketball. Now she is in the NBA. Although she still grows, this production outclasses over 90% of the recent music productions even Grammy winners. There is no software music!!!!!!
And there will be demo tapes of the other songs. They recorded 17 songs I think. So mabye later.-)))
Thats the difference between Emily and Jackie Evancho. She plays only with the best. Jackie is an extraordanary talent.
But Sarah Brightman, no!!!!!!!!!!!!-((((((((((((
Her idols should be Diana Damrau etc. not wannabe opera singers.

I actually prefer an original composer/song writer over just a singer or someone who just plays an instrument really well. I think Jackie Evancho is talented, but Emily is the superior talent imho. :-)

And THAT is why I hate it when people say, "She's good, but there's a lot of kids who can play this classical piece better." And I'm like, "Um...nobody says she's the next Mozart because she plays classical music...but last I checked, there's NO 11 year old who composes like she does." I also prefer original artists to people who can play music written by other people.

But there is a part of me that enjoys plain, solo piano music. Plus, I'm worried that some of the pieces won't sound quite right without percussion. Then again, I'm sure Emily has thought through that already. I'm guessing that she didn't compose most of those pieces at her house with a jazz trio...

Hi, I see some of you already preordered Emily's new CD. It sounds incredible to buy autographed CD. And I would do the same immediately. However, I realized that I don't have to be hurry with buying. I can wait a bit and buy normal (non autographed) CD and then wait for some Emily's event and ask Emily to sign me it in person. Isn't that even more stunning? Petee

Don't brag, Petee... Some of us aren't so lucky. Last time I got something from her, she wrote a note on the envelope and sent me something extra.

There is no right or wrong in music!!!!! Yes, the Salsa Americana would miss something if it would be onky he piano. But hey sing along with it. Make your own Salsa. The bass and the percussions only stress certain things or stress the rythm ( so perhaps your parents or your friends could use spoons etc for swinging), create a certain mood as the cello. The could also be a flute, some sax , some violin. ( Perhaps some waterhose as in the video of Mozarts music I posted a few month ago)
Emilys piano music shouldn't be your personal god. Just enjoy it and create your own Emily music.
My niece had a religious teacher in first grade. The pupils should draw a picture of Jesus. My niece made him green hair. The very young female teacher wrote on the page. "Have you ever seen s.o./ Jesus with green hair. My sister saw this and showed it to me We wrote back " Have you never seen a punk?"-)))))
To Don and Pettee. I did not preorder the CD. I don't use credid cards or paypal, so we are three-))))
To Jackie Evancho. She has no good adviser or a mentor like Quincy. Yes she has success , earns a lot of money. But whats in 10, 20, 30 years. Yes she has 4 albums, all the same style, conveyor products-((((
She should be very careful with her voice. She should forget singers like Sarah Brightman,. In Germany we call this singing " Knödeln"-))))
She should reduce her opera style, after puberty!!!!! train her opera voice etc. Why not sing in a simple, lyrical way-)))

If any would compare JAckie, Emily or even Anna Graceman or Umi Garrett.. it's like comparing apples to oranges.. OR like comparing diamonds to Rubies, Emeralds or Topaz..
A mistake to even try.. all are precious in their own way.. IMO... I like Caviar.. many many do not.. ***

Jackie does have David Foster as a mentor.
All of these young talents are unique in their own way. It just comes down to the style of singer and/or musician you prefer. :-)
