In what style did Emily sing those songs in...classical crossover, Jazz, Pop...ext??? This could be huge for this young lady.

This was my view of the concert Saturday night, I always try to get a view where I can see Emily's hands while she plays, I'd really like to tell how Emily sang the songs but how do you explain to someone how, for example George Harrison sang "My Guitar Gently Weeps" but what I can say is Emily has a very sweet voice and her performance was very heart warming.

Too bad about the cameras!!! I really wanna hear Emily sing now that she sings! She seriously needs to get down to Florida...I've met her, but I haven't heard her play live yet! And I wanna hear the new Northern Lights!!!!!!!!!!! I don't usually have the motivation to learn stuff by ear, but when Emily adds stuff to pieces, I like to mess around with it. When I met them back in August, Mrs. Bear said to me that Emily had recently composed a piece that was "SO you" and that she'd send me the music, but I haven't gotten any. Maybe it'll be on her next CD. I got super curious once Mrs. Bear told me about it, though...Curiosity will be the death of me. Of course, my music-related dream is that Emily will compose a piece for me...I'd probably die if that happened. As for the new piece Emily hasn't named yet, I haven't heard it, but if I composed something I couldn't name, I'd probably call it "Anonymous." I haven't heard Emily's piece though, so "Anonymous" probably doesn't even fit. LOL "Arachnid" sounds really cool; there's a little spider just outside my window and he rebuilds his web every so often; I've actually wondered to myself, "I wonder what Emily would compose for that." I really wanted to give a few ideas to Emily to have her do improv. on when we met her, but we stopped in when she was in the middle of a lesson, so there wasn't time for that. (I took up enough of her lesson time by playing myself! I played "Reflections" and messed up quite a bit.) I've found that my brain works opposite the way Emily composes; I will usually be listening to a piece and get images and scenarios in my head that match up with the music. I'm hopeless at composing pieces based on images or scenarios, though, and I don't have any experience with movie making, so I don't think anything will ever come of that.

Thanks Don, "Sweet voice," works for me. The fact that she is now singing as well, fascinates me.
Perhaps she will sing a few songs on her next CD.

From what I understand Emily did sing on the QL show so it is a matter of waiting till March 25th to hear her. Of course I forgot to ask about QL so I don't know what she sang on there

Emily published a few minutes ago a few photos from the broadstage concert. This photo must have been shot next to you, Don-) or this fantastic profile from side Btw on her last photo ( look on fb) she shows a sweet surprise by the staff of the hotel she stayed. It was definetly not a youth hostel-)

I got the name of the first song Emily sang, here is Ella Fitzgerald performing it "Lullaby of Birdland" and believe me Emily did it beautifully.
