Hi all,
I added a feature to make image uploading more easy. Please respect copyright. If you want to share copyrighted material please link to the original instead of uploading it.
You can either upload images up to 1.5Mbytes and link them as a thumbnail, or you resize your images to max 800pixel width and 125kByte file size to post a full sized image.
Using the integrated image upload
When posting a message, there is a line "Upload an Image:", above the text edit field. There you can select your photo from your local hard disk and upload it with the "Host it" button.
After the upload you will be presented a window with several link options. Copy one of the "Thumbnail for forums" or the "Hotlink for forums" type links to the text edit box to insert your image into your text.
Here are two examples how the result could look like:
The thumbnail:
the full image (320 pixel width)

Using image upload with oversized images
Even oversized images cannot be larger than 1.5MBytes. If you have a larger image go to the Downscale overised images section. After uploading an oversized image, simply select one of the Thumbnail for forums links. Users can view the full sized image in a seperate windows by clicking on the thumbnail.
Downscale overised images
If your image is larger than 1.5MByte filesize or you want to insert a full sized image that meets the forum limits of 800pixel and 125kByte file size, then you need to rescale your image prior to the upload.
To achieve this you will need some kind of image manipulation software, like the freely available Gimp (Gnu Image Manipulation Program). In your software you will find some option to scale the image size. For use at the forum choose a horizontal width not more than 800 pixel. Then you save the image as JPEG with a quality of about 75%.
Here you can watch a short video how to achive this with gimp:
Using ImageShack
Since proboards cannot host images, the image uploader uses the ImageShack hosting service. You can upload images there without registering. If you do, make sure you save or print the links presented, because there will be no other way to access your uploaded image later.
You have some major advantages if you register to ImageShack, for example creating galeries or deleting old images. Registration is free, you only need to have a valid Email address. After registration simply login to ImageShack prior using the forum upload feature. Then your uploads will automatically go to your ImageShack account.
Remark: The image uploader is also available for your Avatars. Please remember that avatars need to be not larger than 100x100 pixel, and you still have to input the real dimension of your avatar in pixel to view it correct.
