Not a whole lot to say about the concert Saturday night, Emily has a way of filling the theater and she played to a full house, Emily was just brilliant her piano skills are brought out in the Grieg Piano Concerto. Every time I see Emily she seems to out do her last performance, she just keeps getting better and better all the time.
I did ask Emily when she thought the new CD would be out, she said she could only guess but during next winter was probably close, Quincy will be producing it and from what Andrea said Quincy is very very excited about it, now we just have to wait.
btw...I uploaded all my photos from the weekend to the gallery under SoundBites some are a little blurry

Winter seems likely for sure after 30.9.2016. So they have enough time to promote it for Grammys 2018 See you later here, now preparing for Hilary Hahn concert Bye

So Quincy will definitely will be producing Emily's next CD!? Big time stuff! Perhaps, she might even nab herself a Grammy nomination. :-)

Letter: Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Emily Bear put on spectacular performance m.rrstar.com/article/20160511/OPINION/160519970April 30 was a special time at rockford’s beautiful Coronado Theater. It was the final performance of the season for the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and feature special guest artist, Emily Bear. The concert was nearly sold out, so almost 2,000 people enjoyed a spectacular evening. The Rockford Symphony Orchestra has been under the leadership of Maestro Steve Larsen for 25 years. Steve has made the orchestra truly world class, and a real treasure in our community. Last Saturday evening Steve was presented with the Illinois Conductor of the Year award from the Illinois council of Orchestras. This is the third time this award has been bestowed upon him. We are proud of you, Steve, as are thousands of others in our community and beyond. The evening began with an overture written by Carl Nielsen. Following that, 14-year-old Emily Bear entered the stage and joined the RSO playing Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16. To say Emily’s performance was outstanding would be an understatement. This required Emily to memorize 90 pages of music, which she performed flawlessly. When the concerto was over, Emily received a standing ovation that continued for some time. Emily then played “Les Voyages,” which she composed when she was 12 years old, and for which she received the ASCAP Young Concert Music Composer of the Year Award this year. Emily received her first ASCAP award when she was just 6 years old, the youngest age to ever receive this recognition. “Les Voyages” was absolutely beautiful, moving and also performed flawlessly by Emily. Once again, there was a very long standing ovation for Emily, which was so well deserved. For an encore, Emily played the “Bumble Bear Boogie,” which again brought the audience to their feet with an ovation that went on and on. In spite of Emily’s beyond-outstanding ability at the piano, as well as her ability to compose music that has brought her national and international recognition, she is very humble and unassuming. Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet Emily would find her spirit to be as beautiful as the music she composes and plays.
