From the GBPAC facebook: We're kicking off a day of outreach with Emily Bear. This morning she's visiting a class of music educaters at the University of Northern Iowa. Keep following us for more updates! A short facebook video of the university class. This morning we're sampling classical works, jazz compositions, film scores and anything else that comes from Emily's imagination. Cooking, books, the aurora borealis...everything has a song ready to be composed! www.facebook.com/GBPAC/videos/vb.42853722080/10152841916582081/?type=2&theaterWe're in Studio One with Emily Bear getting ready for an interview and live studio performance. Be sure to tune into Iowa Public Radio 90.9 at noon! In the interview Emily played a snippet of Rhapsody in Blue, My favorite things, Hot Peppers, and made up on the spot a radio theme for Iowa classical.

Emily and the trio were just wonderful this afternoon, the hall is an excellent place to hear music, the acoustics are near perfect, you can listen to her cd's and video's and still not come close the what you hear in person, it's really a shame vinyl is out. The concert it's self was pretty much the same as the other ones I have seen, but Emily seems to get better and better each time I see her, Her new song is called "Je ne sais pas" yes it's french and if you translate it, it will tell you what Emily wanted to name the song, the song it's self is Jazz genre and is very good, hopfully I'll record it tomorrow night, also tomorrow I may have a little special treat, Here are a couple pics I took of Emily after the concert.

Great photos But the vinyl is not out amd that is the problrm as I just learned. A vinyl would be cool, but the industry has problems because! more and more artists want a vinyl;) The machines of the companys are old and a lot of knowledge got lost in the years. The production of a vinyl is complicated and some parts of the production process has to be by hand! After Maria an US woman retired the whole world wide vinyl industry had quality problems, no jokeSo the artists have to wait up to 4 month for their vinyl. dasfilter.com/kultur/auf-kante-gepresst-warum-der-vinyl-hype-die-schallplatte-kaputtmachttranslate.google.de/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A//dasfilter.com/kultur/auf-kante-gepresst-warum-der-vinyl-hype-die-schallplatte-kaputtmacht

That is good news Don. I also presume that her new CD, whenever they get to it, will be released through the Concord Music Label again?

Emily posted also a photo of her and the swiss young woman "I received a special email from a father from Zurich, Switzerland writing about his daughter who has Cerebral Palsy who saw my music videos on youtube and decided she wanted to learn to play the piano so she could play music that I composed - and how they found a teacher who would work with her and how she learned "Northern Lights" and played it in a piano recital and that for her 18th Birthday they were surprising her with a trip to IOWA (!!) to see me perform! Cannot even begin to tell you how special it was to meet Charlene and her family after the concert and how inspired I am by them!"
