I sure wish I could go to this but the only way would be to fly in and out on Sunday...I think there will be other opportunities to see Emily play...hopefully Ravinia this summer.
don
Hi,
I was checking on google maps the distance between your home Don and place where Emily performs. It wrote me more than 400 miles. It is not really very close and probably available only by plane. I also checked distance between my home and that city and I have to say I have to correct myself it is not 10 000 km like I said some time ago but it is only 7600 km (4700 miles). ;D However, unfortunately, it is still too much to fly to Elmhurst to see Emily. ;D
One day I don't check Emily's website and I miss such incredible news. ;D Thanks Anna that you found it. So, on Emily's website is just published:
February 12, 2010 - Young Steinway Concert Series Emily will perform at the 28th Annual Young Steinway Concert at the Skokie Public Library's Petty Auditorium on May 23, 2010. For twenty-seven years, the concerts have showcased young people with extraordinary talent, giving local audiences the chance to enjoy first-class music close to home. Many of our past performers have gone on to great achievements as professional musicians, and we are proud to count them as part of our Young Steinway family. For more information, visit the website.
sorry I post it in separate post but this news is such great that I have to do it so. ;D Other news on Emily's website says:
February 12, 2010 Emily was invited to appear at the Asissi of the World Festival for a solo recital on June 5, 2010 in Foligno, Italy. The Festival is part of the "Homage to Umbria Project." For more information, visit the website.

Hi all,
if you look at that website, you can find out that many young performers also visited this festival last year. For example: Annie Zhou
she plays beautifully but you know me (I am odd) I am always waiting the end of play to see how artist will face (and she is too serious for me, no smile not even little one).
based on Emily's website Emily has performance today:
April 1, 2010 Ice Dreams Ice Skating Show - Emily will be performing during the Ice Dreams Show. Olympic skaters and National Champions will perform with local talent. The show begins at 7 p.m. at the Edge Ice Arena of Bensenville, Illinois. For ticket info, visit www.icedreams2010.com
this period is really busy for Emily, there is information on Emily's facebook about another her performance:
"Emily was invited to perform in NYC at a benefit dinner for The After-School All Stars, an organization founded by Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger to provide free comprehensive after-school programs to nearly 80,000 children in need on over 450 school sites in 13 different cities from NYC to Hawaii. Their programs inc...orporate academic support, enrichment opportunities, and health & fitness activities."
I uploaded a new video of Emily playing at the Coronado Theater in Rockford Ill, this was one great performance, if you watch you will notice it starts out black, but watch the stage rise...lol what an entrance. Emily was right on that night this is some great music.
Probably you know or just saw on Emily's facebook that Emily performs tonight in NYC. There is one article about this event saying:
At Gala, Piano Prodigy, 8
Thursday's event for the After-School All-Stars will feature several performances, including one by Emily Bear, an eight-year-old pianist and composer. Ms. Bear was booked by Audemars Piguet, President and CEO Francois-Henry Bennahmias, who is being honored and is "obsessed with music," said a spokesman. He was given the recommendation via Brian Malouf, an executive at Walt Disney Records.
"We've been in discussions to be on the label," said Ms. Bear's mother, Andrea. She was calling from a stopover in Rome. She said that she wasn't sure what her daughter might play at the gala Thursday, but it would be "some jazz and some original music she's composed. She usually closes with Bumble Boogie. That's a fun song."
Ms. Bear's mother added that her daughter had composed a song while in Italy called "Italia" she was considering debuting.
The young Ms. Bear said she knew who special guest Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was but wasn't familiar with his film work. She has also performed for the Jonas Brothers, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.
One thing she was looking forward to in New York: "I love bagels," she said.

I am publishing this article here because there is one information mentioned in relation to Italy. And I think I can now to say that yes Emily played in Italy one completely new her composition and it was beautiful song. Wooooow.

You will not believe me Don, but I found time to see this video for the first time just now. Terrible. If I really want to enjoy something I need find very undisturbed and quiet time. So I found it now. :-)
What to say. Every Emily's performance is gem. And yes, start is very nice. However, maybe it is only my feeling but how Emily played Bumble Boogie here it was incredible like reaction of audience during the play. Wow. Only disturbing is that laud child in audience.

I thought that as Emily is in summer camp now I guess with her siblings for 2 weeks that she will take a rest from piano but I am again wrong. ;D Based on her facebook she will perform in another summer camp too: Emily will be performing a concert next week for the kids at Camp One Step At a Time - a camp for children with cancer. See the link for information about the camp. Pretty special place!
Emily, I wish you beautiful time there and and many many many happy children in audience. I believe they will love you.

PS: I think I have to correct myself. Emily loves piano so much that she doesn't need to take a rest from it.
eulenspiegel2: most things have some delay because of the custom service...and very likely Emily and Abigail did not pay for speed shifting/transport...

Ursula: Unfortunately I can't read the German forum. Sigh. Too bad they haven't said anything. You'd think their lawyers would come out with a statement at the least. And they keep posting on social media like everything is normal.

Ursula: Also why is that other forum in German. Why not English?
Sept 7, 2022 23:15:55 GMT -6
eulenspiegel2: it is a German forum...about German pop singer... you may be surprised...but the USA is not the center of the world - it is like US people coming to Europe wondering why not signs in English ..

ursus: Ursula, Google Translate works very well if you translate from German into English and you just need to understand the meaning of what was written. It does still require an understanding of German if you want to use it to post in that language.

ursus: IIRC B&B's lawyers have until 9/23 to respond to the lawsuit. It would not make sense for them to make a public statement before that. B&B themselves have undoubtedly been instructed not to say anything either. That makes sense to me.

mastersgttom: For the benefit of all the members and the guests who visit this site be advised that there is a You Tube video out there of Barlow and Bear doing a live stream. The video was posted by Epic Wonderland. Where she got it I have no clue.
Mar 8, 2024 12:53:33 GMT -6
mastersgttom: The video of the live stream cannot be found on any of their social media platforms. At least from any of my feeble attempts. The video is a bit hard to watch because the audio is totally out of sync with the video.

mastersgttom: What I got out of the video was that it had nothing to do with Moana. They were very mum about their work on that movie. Bling Ring came up in some of the comments. A bit odd that they have a live stream out there, writing music, and not making it public.

mastersgttom: Wow! I just noticed that it has been a little over a year since anyone has posted anything in this Shoutbox. Eluenspiegel was the last one. I messaged him this discovery a week ago but haven't heard back. He used to be the most active member here.
