According to this article m.rrstar.com/entertainmentlife/20160827/rockfords-emily-bear-to-be-featured-in-disney-channel-special-sundayEmily and Laura Marano will collaborate on Refletctions (Disneys Mulan) "Rockford's Emily Bear to be featured in Disney Channel special Sunday ROCKFORD — Growing up in Rockford, Emily Bear would watch Disney movies and marvel at the beauty and music coming from the stories about princesses who were strong, independent and inwardly beautiful. Few would deny that Bear, 14, is an inspiring young woman herself. She began composing at the age of 3. To date, she has composed six pieces for national commercials, released six CDs of original music and performed for audiences around the world. She now is working with music industry leaders in Los Angeles on writing and singing original pop music. But this weekend, the Disney Channel, along with China Ann McClain of “Descendants 2” and Laura Marano of Radio Disney and “Austin & Ally,” will highlight Bear as a young woman who is going after her dreams. “During the evening, China and Laura will introduce viewers to two inspiring young women, 17-year-old beatboxer Ciara and 14-year-old pianist Emily, who are both following their dreams and pursuing their musical passions,” read a statement from the Disney Channel. Bear collaborated with Marano to perform “Reflection” from Disney’s “Mulan” as part of “Dream Big, Princess: Dream Out Loud!", a special Disney event that premieres Sunday. “It was so much fun. I loved working with her,” Bear said. “I feel like we both learned a lot working together because we have different styles and we were trained differently. It was a cool experience.” The segment will air during a 5 p.m. CST showing of the Disney animated classic “Tangled.” The company’s goal is to inspire young women to achieve their dreams and to encourage young women who face adversity. Mulan is one of Bear’s favorite Disney princesses. “Disney has done an amazing job of making princesses not just another pretty face, but giving them certain qualities that inspire millions of people – inspire me. These women are huge role models," Bear said. "Different princesses have different qualities. Like Ariel (from "The Little Mermaid") – she was adventurous and she was independent and she’s curious. And then you have Mulan – and she’s determined and doesn’t let anyone stand in her way. “"
