Same question I asked myself from the beginning en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guest_appearanceOne idea I had... 50$ is a yery ambitious price for a ticket...even if it's a hall in Carnegie Hall Emily is part of the artists www.sorelmusic.org/Sorel/About_Us.html ( when I ever read this child prodigy labe again - I really get a tantrum!!! the even is by Sorel artists www.sorelmusic.org/Sorel/Events.htmlSelling 268 tickets for 50$ for non 0815 typical classical music - in NY - in Carnegie Hall - early Sunday afternoon. - very difficult!!! So at least one performer who at least a few people in NY know is ..but it's only IMHO 2 years ago in another german forum a woman who made her master in NY told that the had one day opportunity to talk to the event manager of Carnegie Hall, he showed her everything...and she learned that US classic audience is very conservative...even Bruckner could be difficult...so perhaps they think...if we want to sell at least a few tickets...some people come for sure to see Emily Bear. The other artists are great So when I linked this event yesterday in this forum...some Curtis? student was totally excited...he would know Mrs Yoon she would be totally cool, making totally crazy things - "Super" but if enough people in NY ...

Thanks for the information and links, especially for the biography of Claudette Sorel. Since she was a child prodigy herself with some "youngest"s in her bio, I don't think that the description of Emily as one should be regarded as an insult.
It is interesting that Emily is listed as are some of the other performers, but not all of them. To me that would mean that Emily is not a guest, but those not listed are guests.

It's just that this labeling seems impossible to erradicate. This superficiality...everyone who can play 4 notes without an accident up,to real talents "prodigy, prodigy, prodigy" - new Mozart, Mozart, Mozart...because of that "prodigy" has a nwgative connotation...Emily is now a young 17 yo woman with incredible talents but also a incredible work ethic, passion etc. If you watch the interview with Pierre M. Krause who already realized in 2015 that Emily does not like to be stucked into the "prodigy" drawer Yesterday we learned that Jackie Evancho suddenly raised her voice..angry about still treated as the 10yo ... Perhaps Emily has to make also a loud statement...telling hopefully every interwiewer in the coming month - "Prodigy no more" - btw. this would be a great song title
