I wonder if she has composed anything for harp? Since her sister plays......... Hi musiclover, I have been bothering my memory for last two hours but I can not remember answer to your question. I think I have read somewhere that Emily composed some song for her sister Lauren for harp. However, I don't know it for sure. She for sure composed one song for Lauren - it is Little angels: Petee

Thanks Petee for racking your brain. I was just curious because I know someone who plays harp so... Little Angels is beautiful - I can play this song on piano!! So fun.

Hi all, maybe you already saw this page: blog.natkin.net/14-and-counting/however, it is a bit strange to read: "On Friday, I photographed an amazing 14 year old piano player named Emily Bear." 14 year old? Have I overslept something? A few years? Petee

Hi Peter, thanks for the info. I got Diversity a while ago and it definitely deserves to be in the charts, it's great to watch how Emily's composing and playing abilities are maturing Dieter

Things have gotten very quiet on the Emily front all of a sudden. Perhaps something really BIG in the works??? :-)

Or perhaps her parents think that she should spent some time without the spotlight, new school, year started, etc. As Andreea Bear put it in the WGN special. Emily shall be a well adjusted adult. The recent month were not normal for a 12 year old kid. And there has to be some balance in a "normal" family life.
But perhaps there is also a new big thing-).

And she is not the only child! I think - but its just guessing- her brother and sister need some attention, too. And Emily needs her normal life too, apart from New York, Juilliard, Ron Sadoff at NYU etc etc-) Emily musical life shall last for decades. (WGN special) - 50 or 60 years run Her parents have to find a way between the interests of the fans like us and a happy - very rare at prodigies - life in the future. Emily does not have to be a Justin Bieber or even Jackie Evancho, sorry, who now have to make the money.! Because in a few years? ? I don't think that will be Emilys problem in the future-)

When I met Emily in Chicago, my mom, sister, and I ended up spending most of the time with Mrs. Bear, since Emily was in a lesson. I asked Mrs. Bear about a few things (I don't feel at liberty to say what specifically I asked about) and I didn't get direct answers to all of them, but she did say that they have some surprises planned. I have no idea when these surprises will happen (I don't know what any of them are), but perhaps they've been busy with some of them.

Thanks Don for the interview, it was quite strange for me to hear the answers of Andrea Bear, about a normal balanced family life. I have to stress I did not know the interview when I kind of "chatted" with cer 10 hours ago-) Thats really weird for me as a German speaking who has to translate everything he thinks in this forum when Mrs Bear nearly uses the same phrases-)
And Trini, lets wait the surprises. I have no idea!!!-)

Personally I hope one of the surprises has to do with "Rhapsody in Blue". I know Emily was learning the song and I hope she debuts it somewhere before the years end, I sure would like to see her play again before Feb 22 and Santa Monica.

I think they may have announced something on Emily's Facebook about that; I think March of next year? I don't know where it'll be, but I think maybe MA or PA or somewhere in New England. I don't remember.
