The same place Don did. Thanks for the link by the way Don! I just played though (or attempted to play through) every song in the book. They are much harder than her last and I'm really excited to get started on learning them!!!

I just got my CD in the mail today! I've listened to all the songs and they're all great! (As I expected of course!) I'm really loving how she's got more jazz improv in this CD. My cover is signed too. It's got some beautiful pictures in there.

I'm excited for this new jazz stuff Emily has written. I play in jazz band all the time but that's nothing like what Emily has written. I think it will be a real challenge!

I went to go see "Oz The Great and Powerful" with the cast of The Wizard of Oz and the score in that movie was fantastic. Danny Elfman is one of the greatest movie composers I think. This scene was one of the moments in the movie where I literally had to lean over to my friend and tell her to just listen to the movie score, because it was so beautiful. (I actually did that multiple times, hehehe. I think she got annoyed with me for that) And being a complete nut for movie scores, I can usually guess the movie composer by listening to the music. So by the beginning of the opening credits I already knew it was Danny Elfman. And just one more, because it's my favorite piece from the whole movie, Hope you guys like this movie score as much as I did!!!

Preordered! I've listened to all the previews for Emily's new album (as I'm sure you all have too) and I quite like the way Quincy planned this new album. Because it's her 'debut' album, it seems right that they should include her new and old music to show all around her best work. I'm enjoying her new jazzier things as well. I don't play much jazz so this is going to be fun to learn! I'm glad that the songbook is coming out so close to the CD release date this time (at least, I assume since it's already in the store). I'm so looking forward to learning new music!

I hate to bother you all with more Wizard of Oz (again) but I finally found someone who uploaded a video from our performace. This is The Jitterbug, which is the catchiest song in the whole movie! After practicing this song for 3 months, it's hard to get out of your head! I'm playing the piano part, which you can't really hear until the very end, but I'm there. We have 4 high schools in our school district, and we are the only high school that doesn't pay professionals to play the pit orchestra part. Everyone you hear playing the music is a high school student or graduated senior from last year. How do you think we did?

Our first Wizard of Oz performance is tonight. Oh goodness, I'm not sure we're ready... But anyway, this is the opening music. I think this is the song we're best at. I'm so nervous. :0

I was able to go and see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra yesterday night. I really like it because it's a cross of classical and rock music. These are some of the videos I got.
