mastersgttom I asked myself the same, but audition seems to be mandatory and July 1 was/is admission date for spring semester so perhaps spring 2018? Audition should have been no problem. Btw I just saw that one of the latesr comments on Emily's post wae from Berklee's President Here are some Berklee data www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg01_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=134What I read so far its not 100% sunshine. Its called the best university for modern music but its kind of also some promo. Tuition fees are very high and many students got a very high debt. One of the problems in recen years seem to be be that they don't guarentee housing in the last years and if you're parents don't have the money ...some had to drop out. In all 3 out of 4 drop out before graduation many also of the famous alumni for different reasons, e.g. Quincy Jones What I have read so far Berklee can be a great decision but also a bad. When you know that there are no tuition fees in Germany (now Baden Würtenberg started for Non-EU foreigners, NRW will follow). We have a few of the best musical, faculties in the world.Even in the US - what I have read so far - you should really think about it - if you just go for the name and realize after a few years that there is a bog mountain of debt or if its really something for you. The students who get admitted are so good that a few commented that staff has not much to do with the quality. Btw. yesterday Emily posted on instagram a story where one could see here reading some musical theory papers. I have all the confidence in the world that Emily and her family have done their homework and are aware of the steep costs of this college and all else that goes with it. If she is starting in the spring of 2018 I'm wondering if she has enrolled in the 5 week summer program I read about on the college's web site. With her usual busy concert schedule it would be hard for her to be a full time student unless there is some "home schooled" aspect to her attendance there. What ever the case may be I wish her all the best and that she stays true to herself and remains that wonderful young lady that we are all familiar with.

Thats really funny: My last Search for Emily Bear on Youtube revealed... that there would be a Livestream of Emily's concert! Of course its not so simple, first you have to click a link to subscribe for.... uhm... nothing but a Chance to lose your money if you give them access to your Credit Card Account, I would suspect. I really hope that there will be good videos of the event, German TV did a good job in Stuttgart 2015, so I hope for similiar recordings from Swiss... I'm with you on that Wolfgang. That Swiss piece on Emily that was posted yesterday was a joy to watch. If the Swiss are as good as the German videographers ( not sure of the spelling here) were during MLE's Stuttgart performances we may be in for a nice treat. I will envy all of you out there that are able to see her performance live, so a little note on this forum on how her performance went would be greatly appreciated.

I'm wondering if there is any buzz out there on how many new tunes Emily played during this performance. Couldn't tell from this short clip if this was one of them. No video posted by Vimeo yet so not even sure if this event was recorded. Time will tell.

and performance of Melissa Manchester Thanks for posting this eulenspiegel. Your skill at finding these videos of Emily are second to none. It seems to me that Emily's piano part during The Bravest Journey is a bit different than previous versions. I really like it.

They uploaded Old Office performance The improv part of this Old Office is really different than any other she has played. I hope I am not just hearing things. Its all good though, anything she does always amazes me I can never get enough of watching her play.

I don't know if anyone else noticed it but both Je Ne Sais Pas and Indigo had some intriguing differences in the way she has played them previously. Especially Indigo, that has always been one of my favorites and would love to see how see finished it but the video cut out too soon. I wonder if this is how she had planned on playing these two tunes or did she improvise on the spot? This girl is so talented nothing surprises me anymore.

This is so cool and totally well earned. There's no mention of her new award on any of her social media sites at this time so I am wondering if she won this for a particular composition like she did last year for Old Office. If I was to guess it would be my favorite 134 West but we'll just have to wait and see if Emily will let us all in on the details. Great job young lady, can't wait for this year and what new music you may present for all your fans.

Two Outstanding Youth Symphonies come together for the first time in a spectacular concert to perform Symphony No. 3 (The "Organ Symphony) and Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens. Featuring Emily Bear and Conductor Linc Smelsor on 2 pianos. Sunday April 30, 2017 3pm Coronado Performing Arts Center Wednesday May 3, 3017 7:30pm De Kalb/Illinois My goodness, never heard anything like this before. This is something that I can only hope and pray is recorded because this something I am sure Emily will excel at and would be a joy to watch. Unfortunately as had been the case for some performances at the Coronado filming has been prohibited but perhaps the other venue will have some video. Maybe Don can shed some light on the video possibilities. I may have to change my plans (if my wife doesn't change it for me) for the Icicle Creek performance and go to Rockford instead.

I am trying to find time to make a trip to Washington to see her concert in April. While doing a Google map search for Leavenworth and the exact location for The Center for The Arts I discovered something that some Emily Bear fans might find interesting. When I located the center on the earth imagery and clicked on its site on the map a picture of the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts comes up. A click on this image brings up a line of photos at the bottom of the screen showing some publicity pics of this beautiful facility. The surprise came when scrolling through these pics I discovered a picture of Emily. I think it was the one that was on her poster for her concert there earlier in the year. This is not something one would expect to see when all the other images were ones showcasing the Center. While some might find this bit of information trivial I on the other hand can only think of the impact her 1 1/2 hour concert had on the staff there, impacting them enough to ask her back in 2017.

That's interesting that you would think that Eulenspiegel, I made a similar comment on Emily's Facebook page. If the photo shoot is a prelude for her pop CD I am sure Emily can't let anything become public until the time is right. Exciting time's are ahead for us as we all anxiously await for the new chapter in her storied musical career, to include what she has scheduled for the new year. I just wish she would have a performance closer to where I live just so I could see her in person. I wonder how her EP CD has been doing sales wise? We'll probably won't know numbers until after the actual release date. I would really like to know if the photos are for EP or for Pop album? http://instagr.am/p/BOJQQJYAHU0

What a very nice write up this was on Emily. It's been awhile since I have read anything as insightful as this piece was, I tip my hat to the author. I hope this helps Emily to sell more CD's.

I am one very happy Emily Bear fan. Got my copy of Into The Blue today. But what really makes this avid fan of MLE really, really happy is its a signed copy. I may never get to see her in person and get anything signed by her face to face, at least I can boast about being one of the owners of the 100 copies she signed. Thanks Emily, you made this old retired Master Sergeant a very pleased follower of your music. Now, I am ready to order your pop CD when it comes out. I posted this on Emily's facebook page but I must admit I was not disappointed. Though I have listened to all these pieces numerous times on Youtube there were enough differences and improvisations to make them feel fresh and a joy to listen to. I have always liked any and all of her music but on this disc, and this is hard because these are all great pieces, I have to say Indigo was my favorite with Je Ne Sais Pas a close second. The sound is a little bit better than you'll hear from a live performance but I would have to say the quality isn't as good as Diversity. But honestly I should be the last person to give an educated evaluation of her CD, I will only add that I loved it and will buy all her upcoming CD's no matter what genre it is in. Hopefully Emily won't keep us waiting too long. Congrats But what about some short review. Which song on the CD do you like most? How is the sound? But perhaps @don may first create a new CD Thread "Into the Blue"

I made my pre-order almost the moment it was posted so I am really "stoked" and am anxious for its arrival. I was a little surprised that there were no new songs on this CD. I was under the impression there were some new compositions she had done and were targeted for this EP. But I am not disappointed, one of my favorites, Indigo, is on the CD and hopefully I was one of the first to order and will get one of her signed copies. You have to remember that the recordings were in New York in September 2015, shortly after Stuttgart. Even "134 West" which she premiered a few weeks later in Joe's Pub is not on the EP. That certainly makes sense. I had forgotten about that recording session in 2015. I remembered the comments Emily made during her interview with Conductor Larsen prior to her Greig concert about her having written some new jazz tunes and when she announced a new CD was coming out I just deduced that some of those new tunes were going to be on this EP. I was wrong obviously but that's okay, I would have bought this CD no matter what was on it. "134 West" is also one of my favorites.
