Don and Petee, thanks for your research. Like petee I feel a bit cut off, because we don't get Ellen's show here, my only resource is the internet, and both of you, of course.
I just went through Ellen's web page and found a few photos I had not seen before, so I link them here:
How do you find these photos? Great find. They all seem to love their puppy, and it is nice to see Emily's family there. Wow, they all are so good looking. It seems music can really make people happy
I can't wait for the new appearance. What a wonderful weekend: Connie AND Emily both on TV. Now there could only be one that is better: Emily & Connie together on TV ;D
Wow, I never saw one of those photos. You are the Geoff of the Emily forum Wow, so many beautiful photos. Thanks a lot for finding and sharing them, I love them all!
I played the C flute and a bit of the F flute. Then I learned a local instrument, the "Zither", and later I added the guitar. I hope I will get a keyboard soon, want to try this for a change ;D
I noticed that many people cannot read musical notes. That was funny for me in the beginning, because I learned them for my first instruments when I was around 6 or 7. It was as natural as oridinary reading for me. But for all the studying and money earning I had not much time for music and playing instruments for many years now.
hi im from norway and im 24 years old. i heard your songs on youtube Journey To My Heart and Northern Lights and i LOVE EM! i have no words for your talent its just amazing. I wish you all the best in future! and when i heard your art i tought of you combinding it with hiphop..
Hi Macc,
A very warm welcome to Emily's forum. I hope you will enjoy your stay here. Of course I completely agree with you, I very much like to have my daily Emily stun ;D Do you know she already has three albums out, with a majority of her own compositions? Two of them are available via itunes and I only can strongly encourage you to get them. They are the best you may listen to of piano music in a long time.
could you imagine these three girls together? That would be quite a treat, and I think it would be much fun for them, too, since they all are around the same age. I would really love to witness such a meeting ;D
Emily and Mozart both began very early in musical training and soon produced the most wonderful music. But beyond that in my eyes you cannot compare them both. They are from different ages, and there music is different. I don't like too much to name favorites, but if I judge on what I hear at the moment most, Emily by far would be my favorite
Don, yes, I think it maybe only Mozart had the complete grip on his music, because it came from his heart. And with Emily we are so lucky, that we can actually listen to the number one interpretation of her pieces, as she is not only doing wonderful compositions, her skill playing the piano is extraordinary.
I find this comparision of Emily and Mozart again and again. Emily herself said once she is some way like him, and in some ways that may be right. But Emily is Emily, not Mozart, and she is such an adorable girl, she has such great talent that she does not really need any comparision. To me Emily's adorable personality adds a lot to her qualities, and if everything we just cannot compare this.
Yet, as I think it is good to know what we are talking about, I decided to give here some information about Mozart, so everyone can make his own mind on this part of the story. I need to say that Mozart is one of my favorite classical componists, he created the most beautiful music I ever heard, and he actually was born in Salzburg, only about half an hour away where I grew up. I learned those facts at school, but I checked them with Wikipedia:
Mozart began musical training at the age of four (1760) in piano, violin and composition. In the following year his father wrote down some pieces he marked "composed by Wolfgangerl", the name meaning "little Wolfgang". Those where two Allegros, one Andante and one Menuetto. Of course no concert as claimed in that Youtube comment. I can remember one Allegro from school, it was very beautiful.
KV 1, a menuetto, and the first "official" Mozart piece, was most probably written 1764 when Mozart was eight, so we can be sure lots of wonderful little pieces unfortunately have been lost. Mozart did his first performance at an age of six and the family toured already 1762 until 1766 through Europe. Soon Mozart began to compose Symphonies, the first being KV 16, and even opera, at the age of 11, together with Vienna adult componists.
Mozart never was poor as some people believe, he actually was best payed almost all his life, but he got into financial trouble several times because he simply spent too much money.
Dieter
PS: Since this is more about composition I put it in this thread, not in the Youtube thread where the inspiration came from.
You pointed it so well. Actually I wrote almost the same as zz said in a (German) review I wrote about Emily's CDs. I like to listen to good music as zz describes, because as you say, only then you hear all the subtility the artist puts in. And Emily, though being only 5-7 years on these records just plays with such a incredible and mature subtility, feeling and passion, I couldn't almost believe I heard such a little kid playing. I listened times after times, and those pieces revealed a bit more each time I listened to them. I wrote in my review that this is music composed and played perfectly by a beautiful heart and you can hear this in every note she playes, and even those remarkle subtitle pauses and tiny delays she uses.
And Don, not tired after 6 hours training, this tells everything about Emily. We can be sure this little girl will play a big role in the musical scene of the coming decades, and I am very, very happy to see how she blossoms in that fascinating way and she obviously has the best parents and a great grandma, and the best trainers you could wish. I am very happy to witness this miraculous story.
I was walking on Internet pages and found one link that brought me to "seventh heaven" for a while. I don't know if I am the first or last one discovering this page or it is secret. I want to thank that man for that page he made. I don't know his relation to Emily's family. However again thanks for so many Emily's beautiful pictures from Ravinia. Here is the link:
Hey Dieter This is the picture of Emily I was trying to find to let you know about the colors that compliment her skin tone. That is why this colors and the lay out is prefect. You guys did a great job.

Faye,
Thanks so much. Main work was for Don. I just added a few buttons unasked ;D.
When I saw this photo I thought of what you have told me and how true it is: blue really fits Emily.
Rockford’s piano pixie Emily Bear , 7, dazzled 1,100 guests at a black-tie benefit Saturday for Chicago-based Resurrection Health Care, the city’s largest Catholic health care organization.
From this. Beautiful picture of Emily there from that night.
"Missed it? Well, you can catch Emily in Rockford at her orchestral debut with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra on March 28 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center."
I don't know but it sure seems like Emily is already part of the classical music touring thing. I doubt they'll allow recording inside the arts center but it sure would be nice .... maybe there will be official recordings?
Arnold
Hi Arnold & Don,
This photo is beautiful, I just needed to link it to the forum ;D
Thank you so much for creating this forum. I thought already for a while, Emily really deserves her own forum and now you did it ;D
And thanks Don for letting me do that admin stuff. Another new field to try ;D
Dieter

eulenspiegel2: most things have some delay because of the custom service...and very likely Emily and Abigail did not pay for speed shifting/transport...

Ursula: Unfortunately I can't read the German forum. Sigh. Too bad they haven't said anything. You'd think their lawyers would come out with a statement at the least. And they keep posting on social media like everything is normal.

Ursula: Also why is that other forum in German. Why not English?

eulenspiegel2: it is a German forum...about German pop singer... you may be surprised...but the USA is not the center of the world - it is like US people coming to Europe wondering why not signs in English ..

ursus: Ursula, Google Translate works very well if you translate from German into English and you just need to understand the meaning of what was written. It does still require an understanding of German if you want to use it to post in that language.

ursus: IIRC B&B's lawyers have until 9/23 to respond to the lawsuit. It would not make sense for them to make a public statement before that. B&B themselves have undoubtedly been instructed not to say anything either. That makes sense to me.

mastersgttom: For the benefit of all the members and the guests who visit this site be advised that there is a You Tube video out there of Barlow and Bear doing a live stream. The video was posted by Epic Wonderland. Where she got it I have no clue.

mastersgttom: The video of the live stream cannot be found on any of their social media platforms. At least from any of my feeble attempts. The video is a bit hard to watch because the audio is totally out of sync with the video.

mastersgttom: What I got out of the video was that it had nothing to do with Moana. They were very mum about their work on that movie. Bling Ring came up in some of the comments. A bit odd that they have a live stream out there, writing music, and not making it public.
