Just thought I'd share some Wizard of Oz music, because it's my schools musical this year and I'm in the pit orchestra! ;D Somewhere Over the Rainbow: And of course this one too. The Cyclone: (my band teacher told us this is the hardest song we'll have to play) And the Jitterbugs, because I don't think very many people know about this song (at least not in the U.S.):

Good luck Sarah, perhaps your school could post some video on youtube as there are many others.
But here I found some entertaining version of
Somewhere over the rainbow by the german singer Nina Hagen, a kind of "enfant terrible Perhaps you could book her-))))
Here with "Summertime"
If you watch her and hear her voice you realize that Lady Gaga is only a cheap copy.

Today is the 85th birthday of
Gilbert Bécaud ( 1927-2001)
" Et maintenant"
It was covered many times " What now my love" e. g. by Shirley Bessey, Elvis Pressley, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra
Perhaps we have some "Nathalie" or you you know someone-))
I hope you don't get bored with the " Daily music" but I or hopefully somebody other try to find every day good music in times between new music by Emily.

David Garrett in a german talk show two days ago.
Viva la Vida ( Coldplay)
He explained that this song uses only four chords so he uses this loop machine in the beginning to create his own backround music.

No problem hosepipe, I watched this show which was quite funny because the host asked David about his movie in which he plays Paganini and some "special" scenes-)) So he was happy when they talked about music again. So I searched in youtube and found this video.
But to today. There are so many covers of "Popcorn". But here is the "best"!!!

Here also something from David, but for the last time for a while, as we are a Emily fan board!!! With his mother in his and my hometown Aachen ( 3 days ago) ( Also the hometown of the famous architect Mies van der Rohe, who died in Chicago!!!!, So when Emily sees his fantastic buildings in Chicago or in New York, she should think Aachen!!!!-)))) - If I knew - David in his old school, about his favourite subject: Philosophy!!! but at last in the famous church " Aachener Dom" 1200 years old and its famous oktagon (I type this 1,5 km away)-)))) There he plays a short piece of music. The last time he played there when he was seven at the Holy Christmas Mass-))) This would also be a fantastic place for Emily!!! I only can recommend to you all if you visit Germany to visit Davids and my hometown, the unbelevable church built by Karl the Great - Carolus Magnus - (747/748 - 814) In a few weeks there will be thousands of French and English pupils and grown ups who visit the Christmas Market-))) If you want to built a new house in the city, you have to have time, because at first they search for Roman buildings-))) www.cityalbum.de/germany/aachen.htmBut enough advertising-))) Here David in Aachen:

Yesterday was Reformation Day. So here is Bachs Kantate "Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild" BWV 79 (God the Lord is sun and shield) from yesterday ( 31.10.2012) mass in Leipzig with the choir this music was written for and in the original place-))) - the Thomaskirche and also the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig!!! J.S.Bach (1685-1750) composed this piece for the Reformation Day 1725. I post this link with the best wishes to the people on the East Coast of the US. Thomaner Choir - Christoph Biller ( 33. Thomaskantor, Bach was the 17th) Gewandhausorchester Leipzig These boys get an unbeliavable and unvaluable musical education!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ThomanerchorLook especially for the two solo parts, its world class musical performance and at the same time high performance sport for such a young voice!!!

I got my music for The Wizard of Oz. I have no idea how I'm going to learn all this! It's 83 pages long! And only until January to learn it all! I've been on a total disney kick recently and thought I'd share some really great piano covers of my favorite Disney movie songs. They're all played by this amazing pianist Kyle Landry. Along with arranging these he writes his own music. Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid: Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas: Reflection from Mulan: Beauty and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast And A Whole New World From Aladdin: Anyone else have a favorite Disney song to share?
