As Emily posted today again a photo of her learning the Rhapsody in Blue with Mary Sauer here my post I made earlier this year in the twitter thread. I only know from a text who promoted Diversity, that there have to be a concert series in Connecticut this year by a member of the Gershwin family. Great to get back to lessons! - new music and Rhapsody in Blue - getting ready for upcoming concerts "Emily recently performed Schumann’s Piano Concerto in a minor with the Santa Fe Concert Association Symphony to a sell-out crowd, and premiered 8 new works of her own for orchestra. She also appeared with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra performing jazz standards to a capacity audience. Now that her hands are finally large enough to play it, she is learning Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” one of her all-time favorite pieces, for a concert series in Connecticut run by a member of the Gershwin " (Concord Media Press Kit Diversity,Bio) As Emily posted on twitter today is piano lesson day in Chicago with a new piece. Rhapsody in Blue - George Gershwin (1924) Here is the complete score: www.fostermusic.jp/user_data/scoresample/bm349.pdfHere the original recording from 1924: Here is a recording of Fazil Say with the Hessische Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra ( Frankfurt is the Capital of German Bundesland Hessen), I posted some time ago in the Daily Music Thread And to end Leonard Bernstein at the Royal Albert Halll 1976

The Alma Mater of the Bears-) - the Michigan University - makes a critical edition of Gershwin work. www.music.umich.edu/ami/gershwin/?p=213Perhaps they let Emily see some autographs etc or talk with her about the Rhapsody or even let her play the piece at the university. This would be a big promo for Emily and the Michigan University-) Perhaps with a feature in TV. A scholarship should be no problem-) They could make a school trip with Mary Sauer and other gifted students. Its always better to learn by first hand experience. Books can be boring-) I think even Quincy Jones would be delighted to see some of the originals, letters, The could make a big Gershwin Gala with the young stars of Quincy in the tradition of "Mr Holland" ( I don't know if they should use the football stars as the male dancers -) but why not) and collect a lot of money for scholarships. There are so many possibilities-)
