Well for starters, I have become a huge fan of this amazing talent In a very short time. She will become an amazing force beyond anything I could imagine I'm sure. She already has accomplished so much in such a short time.
I first encountered this young lady's talent thanks to YouTube. (Yay and kudos for YouTube, seriously) Right there was a video of her first appearance on the Ellen show. Even then she showed the world a tiny glimpse of her energy and passion and ease she has with playing. She was kind enough to write a song just for Ellen as well! Then she played this piece she composed with grace and steadiness and *heart*. You could visibly see that Ellen had to work very hard to keep focused on finishing this segment without becoming too overcome with emotions right away.
I was awed beyond words. Not knowing that this was just the tip of Emily's iceberg, I was content enough with seeing that. What an amazing performance.
Later on I find out that this was one of 5 appearances on her show, and each time she has a handful of pieces to present, including ever more of her own compositions. Each one of her appearances have such charm and grace and beauty. This little tide is growing, and I'm beginning to see the scope of her abilities ...a little.
Then I learn that she has performed at the White House, and has (rightfully) started to earn a lot more recognition, and her creativity grows even more abundant. Then it's off to memorize and play with orchestra an entire Mozart piano concerto in concert. Well, the scope of these achievements are now truly spellbinding.
All done with a smile and a charm and enthusiasm that also seems (thankfully) endless. On top of all that she is beautiful too! Even her pictures have that glow that is all Emily's.
Ok... that aside now, there is one thing that I feel very strongly about and think is very important . Emily should be truly encouraged to find out and learn about *everything*. Anything she desires to try and learn and do and absorb. From what I've seen so far the end result will likely be amazing no matter what she may find herself doing. Right now it looks like playing the piano and composing music will follow her as lifetime aspirations. (It would certainly seem so anyways)
For me that means no particular emphasis on any style of music should be imposed on her. Thoughtful guidance and suggestion, yes, but to the point of trying to exclude her from finding and discovering all the music that would fit her soul, that would be a wrong step to take. What should you learn and know to in order to compose well? I think Gunnar Johansen has one of the best answers to that question. Simply: "Everything."
She is a *very* smart girl though, and I'm sure she will (and likely faster than anyone might be ready for) find many opportunities to learn about all the sources of inspiration that will excite and move her.
I hope she will have lots to say and create and show us for many, many years to come. Please protect this treasure.

Accskaguy,
thanks you described your way how you got to know Emily and her extraordinary abilities. I have to admit I love all Emily's performances (on Ellen show especially). It is unbelievable what everything combined in one little Emily: - incredible talent for playing the piano and feeling of music - incredible talent for composing of music - child beauty, charm and naturalness - very good family background - and for me also her SMILE ;D
So, in my opinion and may be as you already found out, on this forum you can find the best source for any Emily's information (bio, photos, videos, links to various media and so on) and we try to keep them still updated.
I very much enjoyed reading your post, because you exactly describe how I felt. It's funny, about half a year ago I did not care at all about young talents, but there are two girls which completely changed that, one was Connie Talbot, the other was Emily.
When I saw Emily the first time on Ellen's show, I was truly amazed, because her talent is paramount. But the more and more I learned of her I never stopped being amazed. She may not like to hear it herself, but she is simply extraordinary. I don't know anyone who can create such beautiful pieces in just 5 or ten minutes, and play them on a very advanced level.
About her education: as far as I can judge from far, Emily gets the best training she could wish. She has the best teachers, who help her develop all her possibilities. She is not pushed at all, she just loves playing the piano and it seems she hardly can stop to do it. And I think Emily very much knows what she wants herself, she obviously was brought up to be a very self confident little girl, so actually I do not worry at all about her, she could not be in a better environment.

Hi Rita,
I am glad you joined the forum and already expressed your feelings about Emily and her music. I can not talk on behalf of Emily but I think she will like what you wrote I like it too. I would also like to hear all her compositions. Now the number is 180 compositions. Incredible. Incredible. However, we can not wait to see her new (great) CD. For me, musical antitalent, it is incredible how such beautiful music comes into being in so young Emily's heart.

hello everyone:) a few minutes ago,as i was watching music videos on youtube, and especially a performance of sonata "les adieux" for my piano diploma exams,i saw a some children ,so called "piano prodigies"..i smiled because i love my piano soooo much, and i felt so much happier when i "encountered" this little smily face girl,emily..i am 14 years old and i ve been playing the piano for the last 3 years..in june i passed the first certificate exams with some bravos etc...and now i keep practicing for the diploma examinations in two years. i love beethoven.and i m looking forward to see emily performing one of my favourite sonatas "patetica" moonlight" tempest" appasionata"(this last is the only unreached so far..) i wish all musicians the best..music is the way to many things and i think that girl with all her support will continue and upgrade!
p.s soory if any mistakes occured ..my name is marina-eleni and i live in greece
Are we sure that was not an uneducated guess? I mean, we haven't heard anything about Emily's work of such scope... and we are the forum dwellers
This quote came from a person who is close to Emily's family and sees her on a regular basis..so if she said it I believe it...give it time we will hear it.
I've been going thru some of the comments left on my Emily video's when I came across this one.
"She is actually 8 years old - this past August - and you are correct - she is already composing concertos and symphonies and they are amazing!"
we are gonna hear some music from Emily that will even amaze the music world
don
Don,
Maybe Emily will be responsible for reviving the symphony and concertos as art forms. Imagine, a whole new era of new symphonies that can incorporate jazz and so many other music forms that have come to be since the classic composers!
Look how many works she has already composed and in, what, at most three years?

Arnold
Arnold,
that would be a dream. I love classical music, and I think it is sad that the classical forms to write music are not used today anymore. Wouldn't it be great to have a modern concerto, or a modern symphony? I think Emilie has the abilities to revive these forms of music.
eulenspiegel2: most things have some delay because of the custom service...and very likely Emily and Abigail did not pay for speed shifting/transport...

Ursula: Unfortunately I can't read the German forum. Sigh. Too bad they haven't said anything. You'd think their lawyers would come out with a statement at the least. And they keep posting on social media like everything is normal.

Ursula: Also why is that other forum in German. Why not English?
Sept 7, 2022 23:15:55 GMT -6
eulenspiegel2: it is a German forum...about German pop singer... you may be surprised...but the USA is not the center of the world - it is like US people coming to Europe wondering why not signs in English ..

ursus: Ursula, Google Translate works very well if you translate from German into English and you just need to understand the meaning of what was written. It does still require an understanding of German if you want to use it to post in that language.

ursus: IIRC B&B's lawyers have until 9/23 to respond to the lawsuit. It would not make sense for them to make a public statement before that. B&B themselves have undoubtedly been instructed not to say anything either. That makes sense to me.

mastersgttom: For the benefit of all the members and the guests who visit this site be advised that there is a You Tube video out there of Barlow and Bear doing a live stream. The video was posted by Epic Wonderland. Where she got it I have no clue.
Mar 8, 2024 12:53:33 GMT -6
mastersgttom: The video of the live stream cannot be found on any of their social media platforms. At least from any of my feeble attempts. The video is a bit hard to watch because the audio is totally out of sync with the video.

mastersgttom: What I got out of the video was that it had nothing to do with Moana. They were very mum about their work on that movie. Bling Ring came up in some of the comments. A bit odd that they have a live stream out there, writing music, and not making it public.
