Time to make my own twitter. ;D It is nice to have also this option to get the latest updates about Emily. However, as we already have this option via Emily's facebook I would prefer if Emily could directly post her own contributions on that twitter. I know Emily is still very young but Connie Talbot is too and she has own twitter and she manages it very well without big impact into her privacy. However, it is my opinion and I can be wrong. Petee

Emily tweeted that she is working on Schumann. I would like to know if its Robert Schumann piano concert or Clara Schumann piano concert. Both are in a minor. If its Roberts it might be quite difficult for a 10/11 year old girl to express the passion which must bes shown in this peace. The german wikipedia article "Schumann klavierkonzert" is quite interesting amd tell us something about his intentions. The piece expresses the fight for Clara Wieck/ Schumann his longing for her and also the fight for freedom. On youtube you can watch a short piece of the third set ( Mitsuko Uchida, Berliner Philarmoniker) and the whole concert wuth Helene Grimauld. You have to put all your feelings in this concert. It is not the kindergarden romantic of Twighlight or Titanic movies. There has to be fire in the air.

You also have to know that this piece was written during the long trial between Father Wieck and Robert because Wieck did not want Robert as a son in law. Clara was famous. Robert was a nobody. Robert left his first bride because she was poor. In the 19th century a woman had to do what her father or later her husband told her. So Clara lost her career because of her wedding. She only played his music. Many times he did not let her travel or make concerts. So on recent years it was dicovered that istvis was not black or white, the good Robert and the bad Mr Wieck. So Robert lied to the judges about his earnings. If they had known there would have been no marriage. I hope my facts were not boring.

There exists a fantastic movie " Frühlingssymphonie" with Nastassia Kinski as Clara and Herbert Grönemeyer ( unknown to foreigners but the biggest pop star in germany) as Robert from the year 1983. Also Gideon Kremer as Paganini!!!! If you watch this film you learn many zhings about the relationship between Robert, Clara and her father.I don't think there js an english version but when I watched in in my teen years I enjoyed it very much and I rated it the same league as Amadeus. The English Title is "Spring Symphonie" and it is available.

Emily posted a picture of Schumann notes she is playing during her lessons on twitter. I' m not a pianist. Perhaps somebody can proof that it is the minor piano concert. I tried to google the notes but with my iphone I'm not able to download them. Emily made also a statement Schumann is so cool, indeed Germans can be cool although only on rare occasions-))) During the german romantik the people tried to eplore the world and new ideas. There is a famous german Volkslied/ song" Wem Gott will Rechte Gunst erweisen, den schickt er in die weite Welt". ( Whom God confers the right favor he will send in to the the wide world") In this years the "Bügertum" was full of self-confidence. In was the beginning of the industrial revolution in Germany. Only eight years later there was the gernan revolution from 1848. They tried to make a constitution in the Frankfurter Paulskirche but the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm I did mot want the crown from the plebs so the revolution and the self- confidence crahed in 1849. In 1871 they got a constitution but it was not designed by the people but from Bismarck etc. So this was the beginning of a development which led to Hitler. The nationalism/patriotism from the Hambacher Fest in 1832 changed to chauvinism and antisemitism. But enough history-)

Emily should play Schumann "Träumerei" or other " Kinderszenen "and post it on youtube. That would be awsome. Its very simple but sometimes the simple things are the most difficult. In "Spring Symphonie" Robert tells Clara:"You must forget virtuosity" while he plays the Träumerei.

I just discovered that Quincy Jones ans Nastassia Kinski were in a relationship in the 90s and that they have a daughter. She got the most important german movie award for her portrayal of Clara Schumann. So Emily only has to ask Quincy for a copy of " Spring Symphony" What a surprise-))

I hope I get not on the others nerve with movie. But it was astonishing to see similarities between Emily and Clara Wieck but also important differences when I watched this movie again. On the one hand the life of a prodigy and the travelling through the " Weltgeschichte", the hard work for the parents Father Wieck or Andrea Bear, the spent so much time into their prodigy child - it was quite funny to see Father Wieck " flechten" his daughters hairs before a concert and to remind someone on the scene on Emilys CarnegieHall video where her mother combs her hair - on the other side there are differences (I hope so) - Emily seems to be interested in many things, her parents do not seem to decide her way of life for her etc. But enough

And I am very glad that Emily has very different childhood and that nobody forces Emily to play piano all the days like it was with Klara Wieck. I love how Emily radiates positive energy whenever I see her. Petee
