Imagine the possibilities if she sings as well as she plays the piano.

Prromo by Quincy Jones on facebook-) My favorite 12 year old, Emily Bear, is playing this Saturday in Santa Monica at The Broad Stage. She is the fourth and final performer of the series I have put on throughout these past few months. It has been an absolute pleasure presenting these young artists through this series, and I am so proud of every one of the talented performers. These kids are really bringing music back up to where it belongs, and Lady Fleeze will kill it this weekend!

First of all there is bad news, there was absolutely no cameras at the show on Saturday night so I have no video. Let me tell I have recorded many Emily concerts but this is the one concert that would have been the funest to record. Emily was just brilliant, she played old songs she played new songs she played songs she composed on the spot, this by far was one of the funest concerts I have ever seen Emily perform, near the beginning she explained that there was a song she really likes but was always unable the play because her hands were just to small, then she said well My hands are large enough now and she went on to play a few minutes of Rapacity in Blue, Gershwin would have been proud. Emily did sing three songs the first your gonna have to forgive me I don't remember the name but I'll find out, the second was Girl From Ipanema and the third was Pure Imagination, Let me tell you Emily has brought her performances to a whole new level by singing and I hope in the future she writes new songs with lyrics that she would be willing to perform.
Emily went on to perform a few new songs that she had just written this month one was called "Arachnid" it was based on 2 spiders building webs and see who could make the finest and prettiest and another song that has no name yet and she was open to suggestions for a name, after the concert I told her she should call it "February's Wish" because it was written in February and you wish you had a name for it, but she was getting alot of suggestions so I'm not gonna hold my breath on "February's Wish"
Emily performed a couple old pieces from her "Love in Us" CD she did "Rosario Sings" and "Northern Lights" She added quite a bit to Northern Lights maybe another minute of so to the song, it sounded just wonderful, I think I know why she did it but really can't say now because I may be way wrong.
During the show she asked for suggestions in other create a scenario and she'll create the music behind it or for it. These are always fun to watch composing on the spot she has done it a few times on TV and I have seen her do it at a few of her other concerts and this is something I know she really likes getting kids involved in.
Emily also did a melody of songs that she had re-scored for short films, I was able to pic quite a few of them out, she also put in her waist watchers commercial, she ended the concert with "Bumble Boogie".
Talking with Emily after the show she asked me which show I liked best the 7:30 or the 9:30 I told her the 7:30 only because it was all new to me, in reality both shows were nearly identical and one wasn't any better than the other they were both fantastic because of Emily.
