I wonder where Petee is ;D he hasn't said anything about Emily's new video Hi Andreea, don't worry, Petee is still alive and still here although a bit in background. However still available, still browsing Internet and still tireless fan of Emily. And every video with Emily playing her or other classical music is a gem for him. However, a bit sad as he didn't see Emily performing in person for more than one year and it is a very long time for him. Petee PS: However, I am glad that somebody thinks of me.

His Trini,
As in a few hours its the end of the reign of Pope Benedict XVI here his favourite german folk song
" Kein schöner Land" on a piano.
A few month ago I posted another version in the Trapp Family Post.
Here the Trapp version
Here is another beautiful 200 year old german folk song
"Der Mond ist aufgegangen" Matthias Claudius(1740-1815) lyrics
There exists a vesion for church and in 1816 Franz Schubert made a version for voice smd piano.
here in a version by Herbert Grönemeyer ( who played Schumann in "Spring Symphonie")
in front of 200.000 people in Berlin on a concert against poverty
There are many in jokes in Germany that he cannot sing and even germans don't understand-))) but this version is fantastic!!! Many are just jealous because of his successs. He may not have the "Voice of....."-))) but he transports the feelings and the lyrics perfectly. Just simple singing without candy!
Evening song
The moon has been arising, the stars in golden guising adorn the heavens bright. The woods stand still in shadows, and from the meads and meadows lift whitish mists into the night.
The world in stillness clouded and soft in twilight shrouded, so peaceful and so fair. Just like a chamber waiting, where you can rest abating the daytime's mis'ry and despair.
Behold the moon - and wonder why half of her stands yonder, yet she is round and fair. We follow empty visions and artisans' ambitions because our minds are unaware.
We vain and wretched sinners presume to be the winners, but we know nothing yet. So many neat solutions are nought but great delusions that farther off the path us get.
God, grant us Thy salvation! No worldly aspiration, no vanity allow! Like children simple-hearted, and joyful like we started, let us become and teach us how!
And lastly, grant us leaving the world without much grieving, let peaceful be our death. When from the earth You take us, let heaven's joy await us: stand by us, Lord, at our last breath.
So, brothers, in His keeping prepare yourself for sleeping; cold is the evening breeze. Spare us, oh Lord, Your ire, let rest us by the fire, and grant our ailing neighbour peace.

Yesterday I watched a germain movie again and discovered that it has a nice movie theme.
Bella Martha ( Mostly Martha) As It had some success Hollywood refilmed it " No reservations". But as always the original outclasses the copy. Some of you may know Martina Gedeck from the Oscar awarded movie " The life of others", one of the best movies of the recent years.
Don't get too hungry-)))))
The very funny final scene-))))

Ooops, I just discovered that they used a jazz standard by Keith Jarret "Country" (1978) for this movie. Perhaps Emily knows already this song-)))
So here a recording from Keith Jarret at Saturday Night Life 1978
And a jazz trio from the NIU-)))))) ( North Illinois University) Perhaps Emily knows the members
And the John Burgess Quartett at the Uhlenspiegel-)))) ( different notation of my nickname) in Gießen ( Germany)
Trini, Sarah, Andreea - I tried to find the sheets on internet, but was not succesfull.
To complete this day post
another funny scene from this movie. After getting furious ( I don't hope you will meet such a chef-))) ) she realizes that there is more in live than perfection in cooking!

I hate to bother you all with more Wizard of Oz (again) but I finally found someone who uploaded a video from our performace. This is The Jitterbug, which is the catchiest song in the whole movie! After practicing this song for 3 months, it's hard to get out of your head! I'm playing the piano part, which you can't really hear until the very end, but I'm there. We have 4 high schools in our school district, and we are the only high school that doesn't pay professionals to play the pit orchestra part. Everyone you hear playing the music is a high school student or graduated senior from last year. How do you think we did?

You've got a friend
In 2006 he performed for Pixas movie " Cars" Randy Newmans song " Our Town". Newman won a grammy for the song.

Quincy and Big Band with famous "Soul Bossa Nova"
His first hit single with Michael Jackson
Don't stop till you get enough
We are the world 1985 ( By the way, Cindy Lauper is incredible!)
Some fun! As Quincy Jones produced the "Fresh Prince of Bell-Air"
here Will Smith and Gary Barlow perform the theme
I"ll be good to you ( with Chaka Khan and Ray Charles)
Summertime ( with Miles Davis in Montreux 1991)

There is so many in Quincys musical life that I did not posted a link to his movie scoring. But as it is written in the article Emily likes to sing - a new Adele-,)- "Celias Blues" from " Color Purple". For this score Quincy was nominated for an Oscar.
So let us imagine Emily singing this song-)))
