I tried to pre-order the new CD this morning until the point where I could see the Price as a whole, then cancelled it. Shipping would cost pretty as much as the Product itself, so it would cost around 20 € for me. Maybe we could organize a group-buy for us German Fans?

Seems that this Phenomenon is a problem with the implementation of a audio-player rather than a hint for a Song of the comimg Album: jPlayer as audio-player

Has anyone noticed that when the website is loading, for a rather short time a song titled "Stirring of a fool" pops up before it is replaced by the song "Remember"? I dont know enough about coding to say what it means, but you can find it if you examine the source code. Searching for this title I found this: Miaow - Stirring of a foolThis is also a test for embedding a pure link rather than a whole video - makes things a bit faster and needs less space on the server, I suspect...

Maybe just in time for Christmas!
After this post with the hashtag #jazz I suspect that she will release a full Album with Pop-Music and a EP with Jazz.. Can't wait...
By the way, I just heard her latest CD today again. It is still good, but there is a huge difference between this recordings and the stuff she played in Stuttgart last Year, not to speak about what she is able to do today. So it is really time for a new album.

For me, it has been a big surprise to hear that Emily is making an Pop/R&B-Album. The older I get (born in 1959!), the more I am focused on Jazz, Soul and Blues. So I was fine with my own imagination of Emilys future I had until this morning: Film Scores and Commercials for Money, Jazz on Stage and on CD more for Fun. I never expected R&B. And I never expected her to sing. For me, it is a mixed bag. Here is why: 1.) I have had the Hope that her next Album would be full of Jazz. It is unlikely that Emily will mix R&B with Jazz, so it seems I have to wait. 2.) Her Voice seems far better now. But one should consider that there is a huge difference between Studio recordings and Live singing on stage these days. 3.) What is Emilys long-term objective with such an Album? Is she really trying to start a career in this genre? There is a lot of competition... Or is she just busy to throw a lot of different balls on the wall to see which one will stick? A lot of questions. Emily never ceases to surprise me. Despite this questions, I am awaiting more samples of her coming Album. And I will give it a try. It was long time ago that I bought my last Pop/Rock-CD, but possibly it is time....

Usually, we will mention very good artists here, worth introducing them to this board.
But I found that it could be funny to turn the tables and introduce some really weired stuff.
From Wikipedia:
„Florence Foster Jenkins, born Nascina Florence Foster (July 19, 1868 – November 26, 1944) was an American socialite and amateur soprano who was known and mocked for her flamboyant performance costumes and notably poor singing ability. „
Her Counterpart when it comes to popular Music (from Wikipedia) :
„Leona Anderson (3 April 1885 – 25 December 1973) was an American silent film actress who is possibly best recalled for her 1957 shrill music album Music to Suffer By „
Please do yourself a favour and put a diaper on before you click.
Have fun!

I have been busy these days, so I am a bit late with my answer for you, Eulenspiegel..
Why your insinuation that I've not seen the Video you posted the link to? I was somewhat obsessed with Nikki Yanofsky for years, I downloaded and ripped all songs and videos I could find. So, yes, I have watched almost all videos of her on YT. And I gave her latest songs a try. But I see no reason to change my mind.
I waited for a breaktrough of this Girl that never came. And at some point (maybe as I saw Nikkis performance at the Vancouver Winter Olympics) I realized that there will probably never a breaktrough for her because she is not good enough in comparison to her competitors. If neither Quincy Jones can help her, nor the money of her parents or the chance to sing the national Anthem…
So I left her behind. There are so many highly skilled, hard working and well trained singers out there worth to listen to that there is no need to stick with a dream that probably never will come true.
So I will come to my last point: I have no problem that you seem very, very convinced of your own opinion and your own taste regarding music. And I am thankfull that you are a member that is busy to keep this board alive. Forgive me if I am a bit unfriendly, but it seems that if you post a video of an artist that you like and someone else (like me) is not so convinced, there is only two possible reasons that you are considering: I did not really see the video, or I am somewhat clueless. Otherwise I would have felt in love with this artist like you did. There is no way that someone has some taste in music and has an other opinion than you.
P.S. I forgot to ask you: Did you give the links in my post with some of my favorate artists a try? With Rhiannon Giddens among others? I am pretty sure you did not.

To be honest, I am done with Nikki Yanofsky.
I was overwhelmed when I heard her singing "Airmail Special" at age 12. And I have 3 CD's of her. BUT:
- her scatting was a perfect copy, not an improvisation. - she is not able to improvise, therefore she lacks a fundamential skill necessary for a jazz singer. Look at her poor performance as a member of Quincy Jones "Gumbo All Star Band", singing "Girl from Ipanema" (by the way my first encounter with Emily...) - Her idol is Aretha Franklin. But she is a belter, she can reach the high notes only if she begins to cry. - Not only she is a mediocre singer, it seems that she is a bit arrogant: She means that she is a natural born superstar, pefect from the beginning. No need for any further training, education or practising. There is the same humming and crying than 10 years ago. - She murdered the national anthem. Her rendition of "O Canada" during the opening ceremony of the winter olympics in Vancouver has been really bad. As we say in Germany, "unterirdisch".
