So far in Europe only as MP3 download, but I really hope the CDs will also be available soon. And it looks like they plan to add the other albums soon, too.
Thank you very much for those videos and the list. I will get the sheets and definitely will try to learn at least some of the more easy pieces. I found piano is as wonderful to learn as I always thought, it is actually not as difficult, at least if you played another instrument before. Of course I need a lot of practicing, but I now can understand that Emily like to practice so many hours, it is just so much fun. And I found brilliant teacher, we have a lot of fun.
I found out last week that I won 3rd prize in this talent competition. I won a Nintendo Wii and an i-pod. So I am really happy

Hi Allegra,
Congrats to your price. I enjoyed your video very much, and I think it will be quite a time until I get as good as you. And it is a nice price. Do you know that they will soon release a WII karaoke game with Connie Talbot? And an ipod is great, I have my whole CD collection on my mp3, and I found it is very usefull when practicing new pieces to listen to other people playing them.
He is already quite good. But I hope you won't adopt his position. He holds the guitar in very common wrong position. I can assure you from my own experience, his play would get much better if he would hold the guitar right :-)
This way the left arm and hand is forced into a position where you cannot become so precise and fast as with a more stretched and uphold arm and the hand in the right angle. Also you hurt yourself much easier, and some position are very difficult this way.
Is there Emily or not. I have a problem to determine it. Tags of this video contain words "emily" and "bear". I know that Emily performed in 2008 in connection with Steinway (documentary film "Note by note ..."). Girl in this video even has hairband but I don't know. Help me to solve this problem.

Hi Peter,
I can't find Emily anywhere on that video. As I understand, these are students of Emilio Rosario, so there is some reason why Emily's name is tagged, but no, she is not there on the video.
Peter, yes though YouTube belongs to Google, it seems the Google search works completely independent, and such it needs some time for a new video to appear on Google. I usually search both, and when I have much time I also go to the yahoo search engine. This one is a bit better on news articles, but this all needs much time, so usually I can't manage. I found these videos by searching for recent videos of the week on Youtube.
I like both videos, though as accskaguy says, unfortunately they cut the end in the second video. I see this a lot with videos from US lately. But the main thing is, now we have a short and very beautiful piece of that event, and can actually see Emily in this beautiful blue dress not only on photos, but acting and performing. Faye told me that blue is a color that suits Emily very well, and here you can definitely see how right she is
And it is amazing how professional Emily is in interviews already, and wow, 180 pieces. I never heard of a kid that age doing this. And did you watch the Australian documentation? As far as I can see she just improvises a bit there, and even that is beautiful, it is amazing: she improvises a beautiful short piano piece, and right after puts oboe in a perfect way above it. As far as I can hear (I am just relearning this now) she plays based on a cadence there. I always noticed even when she certainly did not know about music theory, she has a natural grip to it. It just flows out of her in the right way. I saw this only from highly experienced musicians and composers. Here you can see that Emily is not only very talented, all the training pays off, and whatever happens, I am sure she will have her part as a musician and composer in the music of the coming decades!
ChildrensLA has uploaded two videos of Emily on the Noche de Niños Gala. The first is a short interview, and the second is of her performance at the gala:
Martinka is really cute, and she plays the accordeon very well. I like this local styles of music and hope people like Martinka help preserving this music. And I hope she will have a career in this kind of music, and maybe even come to her neighbor countries some time
So now it's my turn to show you another newcomer and a great talent: You may already have heard of Hollie Steel, finalist of this year's Britain's got talent. I think she is a very talented singer and maybe dancer (we couldn't see her dance so far). After all the fuzz around BGT this year, from the tour now every day new videos are uploaded to YouTube. Here are two of the more recent ones:
I tell you this, because we just started a forum for Hollie together with some friends from Connie's forum. You can visit it here:
You absolutely do not have to apologize for playing this instrument. It is a beautiful instrument and as a kid I did several tries on it. Only I decided to zither and guitar. You may know that it is one of the most used instruments for the original Bavarian traditional music. And with "original" I don't mean that kind you usually hear and see on TV, that's not near the real tradition, more kind of an "October Fest" tradition. Bavarians usually love music, and on sunny summerdays I very often hear one of our neighbors play it all day, and being surrounded by people playing accordion and alp horns is one of my nicest child memories. This may sound strange, but yes it was like this, because we had several singers and musicians of traditional music living in our street.
Just for fun, this is two pieces of original Bavarian "folk" music. And you see couldn't live without the accordeon. O.K., you don't need to like this music, as usual folk is not everyones thing.
Again for finding this gem for us. I always wondered how they preserved Emily's compositions, because as fast as they seem to come there is no way writing them down. This special piano is real treat for Emily I think. And she comes along as a normal kid that "just plays the piano". I was very happy besides Andrea to finally see Brian. Yes, it seems the whole family supports Emily to the best of their means, a major part in this story is that Emily from the first moment on got the right support, and her musical talent got nurtured in the right way.

eulenspiegel2: most things have some delay because of the custom service...and very likely Emily and Abigail did not pay for speed shifting/transport...

Ursula: Unfortunately I can't read the German forum. Sigh. Too bad they haven't said anything. You'd think their lawyers would come out with a statement at the least. And they keep posting on social media like everything is normal.

Ursula: Also why is that other forum in German. Why not English?

eulenspiegel2: it is a German forum...about German pop singer... you may be surprised...but the USA is not the center of the world - it is like US people coming to Europe wondering why not signs in English ..

ursus: Ursula, Google Translate works very well if you translate from German into English and you just need to understand the meaning of what was written. It does still require an understanding of German if you want to use it to post in that language.

ursus: IIRC B&B's lawyers have until 9/23 to respond to the lawsuit. It would not make sense for them to make a public statement before that. B&B themselves have undoubtedly been instructed not to say anything either. That makes sense to me.

mastersgttom: For the benefit of all the members and the guests who visit this site be advised that there is a You Tube video out there of Barlow and Bear doing a live stream. The video was posted by Epic Wonderland. Where she got it I have no clue.

mastersgttom: The video of the live stream cannot be found on any of their social media platforms. At least from any of my feeble attempts. The video is a bit hard to watch because the audio is totally out of sync with the video.

mastersgttom: What I got out of the video was that it had nothing to do with Moana. They were very mum about their work on that movie. Bling Ring came up in some of the comments. A bit odd that they have a live stream out there, writing music, and not making it public.

mastersgttom: Wow! I just noticed that it has been a little over a year since anyone has posted anything in this Shoutbox. Eluenspiegel was the last one. I messaged him this discovery a week ago but haven't heard back. He used to be the most active member here.
