Hi Petee,
Thanks for these lovely pictures. I very much remember the scene in Ellen's show, smiling so charmingly at Ellen. You see how Emily enjoys what she is doing, and she enjoys the amazed faces of people who listen her play her own compositions.

Hi Allegra,
I just listened to your composition, and I am impressed. I played several instruments for many years, and I had a bit of understanding of music. Yet I never managed to get into composition. So far out of lack of time I could not listen to your other composition so far but I would very much like to hear more of you, and I will certainly take a look at your other compositions.

Hi Petee,
When you look at the seem of her hair, when she moves you can see the effects caused by use of a green screen. So I think Emily sat in front of a green screen and the backgrounds all were added later. But it seems they did a good job, you need to look closely to see it.

Hi Petee,
I like your find very much, so to make things easier I added this site as a button to the header of the forum.
Thanks for that find

Yeah, I don't know if you've heard 'Out of Control' but it is totally fun. It's actually one of my favorite compositions of hers. She plays part of it sloppily on purpose, obviously. It's great! I love how she can capture different moods already. Hi Whammy, First a very warm welcome from my side. If I would have to chose some favorites, "Out of Control" would be one of them. It is just fun to listen to it and it shows, how Emily literally plays with her music. Other pieces may easily move you to tears because they come from her very friendly heart, but this one obviously is on the fun side of music. Dieter

Hi friends,
I think it would be nice if we get to know each other a bit. Of course you are absolutely free about whether and what you want to share. Be aware that this thread is world readable.
So for my own person: My name is Dieter (spelled Deeter, not like diet). I am from Germany and a professional computer guy. I came to this forum stuff last summer when I laid down sick and by searching the internet stumbled over Connie Talbot, that incredible young singer and runner up on the first season of Britain's Got Talent show. On Connie's forum Don hinted me to another incredible talent named "Emily Bear", who just floored me with her amazing music. When finally Don created this forum for Emily there was now doubt for me to join and as Don asked for some help I got this job of an admin.

Hi all, I added a feature to make image uploading more easy. Please respect copyright. If you want to share copyrighted material please link to the original instead of uploading it. You can either upload images up to 1.5Mbytes and link them as a thumbnail, or you resize your images to max 800pixel width and 125kByte file size to post a full sized image. Using the integrated image uploadWhen posting a message, there is a line " Upload an Image:", above the text edit field. There you can select your photo from your local hard disk and upload it with the " Host it" button. After the upload you will be presented a window with several link options. Copy one of the "Thumbnail for forums" or the "Hotlink for forums" type links to the text edit box to insert your image into your text. Here are two examples how the result could look like: The thumbnail: the full image (320 pixel width) By frodo623Using image upload with oversized imagesEven oversized images cannot be larger than 1.5MBytes. If you have a larger image go to the Downscale overised images section. After uploading an oversized image, simply select one of the Thumbnail for forums links. Users can view the full sized image in a seperate windows by clicking on the thumbnail. Downscale overised imagesIf your image is larger than 1.5MByte filesize or you want to insert a full sized image that meets the forum limits of 800pixel and 125kByte file size, then you need to rescale your image prior to the upload. To achieve this you will need some kind of image manipulation software, like the freely available Gimp (Gnu Image Manipulation Program). In your software you will find some option to scale the image size. For use at the forum choose a horizontal width not more than 800 pixel. Then you save the image as JPEG with a quality of about 75%. Here you can watch a short video how to achive this with gimp: Using ImageShackSince proboards cannot host images, the image uploader uses the ImageShack hosting service. You can upload images there without registering. If you do, make sure you save or print the links presented, because there will be no other way to access your uploaded image later. You have some major advantages if you register to ImageShack, for example creating galeries or deleting old images. Registration is free, you only need to have a valid Email address. After registration simply login to ImageShack prior using the forum upload feature. Then your uploads will automatically go to your ImageShack account. Remark: The image uploader is also available for your Avatars. Please remember that avatars need to be not larger than 100x100 pixel, and you still have to input the real dimension of your avatar in pixel to view it correct. Dieter

This is a great find. So she won the price, isn't it. And to me it looks as if they have a special great piano there that suits the kids. So at least Emily did not need a case to reach the pedals this time Dieter

Hi Petee,
Another two beautiful photos. The second one is special. There you see purely Emil, no posing or anything. She is just herself lost in her thoughts, I think. This is a very special photo and I noticed you can purchase them on that page. Maybe I will do that ...

Hi Allegra,
First, a very warm welcome on Emily's forum. Emily certainly deserves to have this fan platform and I am very grateful to Don for creating this opportunity to share our appreciation for Emily here.
And second a big thank you for your analysis. Though my musical knowledge is quite dusty and rusty, to my very limited understanding I can fully agree with what you are writing.
What stroke me with Emily is how her music is - I would say - complete: it just goes straight to your heart if you listen closely, it is heart felt music. Technical speaking her music is logical and very well structured. This clear structure, with a naturally developing suspense (hope that is the right word), how she introduces the main theme, changes to a second, returns to the first, creates variations, all this adds very much to the wonderful quality of her music. But what stroke me most is, what a deep understanding of music she has at her young age, but most how she creates simple, beautiful music in which for my ears everything is perfect.

Hi! Does anyone know the composition she played on Ellen 4/30/09? I only caught the end of it. Thanks Sem, As far as I can understand it is called "Tomorrow's Wishes", because she wishes the kids at the "Children's Hospital LA": "many, many tomorrows, and many, many, many, many wishes". Isn't she just great? Dieter

Hi, They usually do rehearsals for those shows. The setup of those photos does not look like being part of the show, because why should they show the piano on screen at the show. Looks like a screen test for me. I think those are photos of Emily and Ellen preparing the show, which in my eyes would make them even more valuable. I loved that video very much. You see again, that Ellen and Emily like each other very much. In the end Ellen says: "That's my friend Emily Bear". It is really a joy to watch those two. Dieter PS: It seems I am not the only crazy guy staying up till 3am to prepare some photos or web vids for Connie or Emily

Hi Petee,
I only can stay amazed with your internet searching skill. Even after I knew that event I could not find the photos. And those are so beautiful photos of Emily.
You can easily see how much she enjoys herself on this occasion. Thank you very much for finding those photos.
